Cătălin Cristuțiu: Everything is Film Editing

Workshop “Could we call a Freudian slip an edit made by the brain without our control? I am interested in the way film editing could be used as a lens to help us look at art and human behaviour. ” Starting from his experience as a film editor working with Radu Jude, his long time collaborator, film editor Cătălin Cristuțiu will discuss the creative process behind their collaboration and how one can take inspiration from literature, painting or memes.

Cătălin Cristuțiu has worked as an editor on over 90 feature films, shorts and TV series. He has edited the entire works of Radu Jude including the feature films Aferim!, which won the 2015 Berlinale Silver Bear for Best Director, and Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, winner of the 2021 Golden Bear. In recent years, he has been focusing on films which use editing as the central means of artistic expression. Cristuțiu also works as an editing advisor. More about PROFeKK here.
