Workshop #worthseeing
Organiser: the FIPRESCI Slovenian Federation of Film Critics and the Ljubljana Short Film Festival FeKK with the aid of the Slovenian Film Centre.
Language: Slovene
Although film criticism still prevalently appears in traditional printed media, it can also be found in new audio and audio-visual formats such as video essays that speak in a specific cinematic language, concise or in-depth stories, reels and first-person addresses on social media, several-hour-long podcasts, and more. Since film criticism workshops normally centre on writing, the FIPRESCI Slovenian Federation of Film Critics is once more breaking away from tradition by hosting the #vrednoogleda workshop which allows young film critics to analyse a film in a form of their choosing.
During the practical section, we will polish and re-edit our work with constructive recommendations from editor and film critic Kristian Božak Kavčič.
The workshop will be divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical section, led by Anja Banko, film critic and curator of the Slovenian Cinematheque, will discuss various approaches to watching and critically analysing films. While socialising through short film projections, we will already be considering and debating the concepts for our final creations.
During the practical section, we will polish and re-edit our work with constructive recommendations from editor and film critic Kristian Božak Kavčič.
