Short Film Night 2025

The shortest days of December will once again be illuminated by Short Film Night!

Around the time of the winter solstice, Short Film Night will again take place this year across Slovenia, across the border, and online. Traditionally dedicated to the exciting short film form of both domestic and international production, this year’s rich programme offers six programme sections for adults and children alike. Screenings will take place from 20 to 23 December 2025 at venues of the Art kino mreža throughout Slovenia, at the Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana, at the BorGO Cinema venues in Gorizia, and on the online platform Baza slovenskih filmov.

The initiators and main co-organisers of this nationwide and cross-border event are FeKK Ljubljana Short Film Festival and the festival Kino Otok – Isola Cinema with its short film section Video na plaži. Short Film Night is also joined by Kinoatelje from Gorizia in collaboration with BorGO Cinema, the animated film festival Animateka, and the online platform Baza slovenskih filmov.

In addition to the Slovenian Cinematheque, audiences are invited to Short Film Night by the following members of the Art kino mreža Slovenije: Kino Velenje, Kinogledališče Tolmin, Kulturni dom Cerknica, ZIK Črnomelj (Dom krajanov Vinica), Kulturni dom Nova Gorica, and ZKTŠ Murska Sobota.

Information on screening times for the programmes between 20 and 21 December 2025 is published on the websites of the co-organisers. Admission to all listed venues is free of charge.

On the online platform Baza slovenskih filmov, the Short Film Night programme will be available to watch free of charge from 21 to 23 December 2025.
