Etiquette / Guidelines for festival goers

We at FeKK Ljubljana Short Film Festival feel it is crucial to remind ourselves of the importance of keeping festival spaces as fun and
enjoyable as possible for everyone involved. We are aware of the challenges and difficulties that may arise while organising a public
event, and we take full responsibility as hosts to protect our values as well as the people attending our events. With these guidelines, we aim to contribute to and create a safer environment, ensuring a pleasant festival experience for all attendees.

Our goal is to provide a friendly, supportive and harassment-free environment for everyone regardless of gender, age, sexuality, physical
appearance, ethnicity, religion, beliefs or any other group identities. As a festival, we celebrate creativity and diversity, and strive to keep the festival spaces as open, welcoming and safe as possible. To achieve this, we believe it is essential to clearly state what we stand for and what we will not tolerate on the festival sites.

Below you will find the guidelines for all participants at our festival and events. All participants are expected to respect and follow these guidelines:

1    Any type of physical, psychological, verbal and sexual violence is strongly prohibited.
2    Racist, sexist, homophobic or other types of hateful comments based on nationality, religion, beliefs, age, sexual identity or
expression are against our policy.
3    Abuse of power, reputation, or social status to harm others is unwelcome and will not be tolerated.
4    We have zero tolerance for theft or the intentional destruction of public or festival property.

If, however, the circumstances lead to an event where the festival goer doesn’t feel safe, the person who has been subjected to any kind of violence can notify any of our team members, who will react accordingly:

1    Holding space for a person who experienced an unwanted situation.
2    Encouraging secure and confidential conversation about the situation.
3    Building confidence, especially among those involved.
4    Preventing further unwanted behaviour.
5    Offering help and support if the person wants to report the case to the authorities.
6    Discouraging rumours and gossip.

The FeKK team is equipped with knowledge on harm reduction and prevention of sexual violence at public events.

We support ethical film production and reserve the right to exclude from the program authors and/or films that have in any way acted against our policies or violated our standards.

FeKK team encourages you to mingle, have fun and take care of others attending the festival. Safer spaces are a communal effort that each of us has to contribute to.
