FeKK, the annual Ljubljana Short Film Festival, takes place from the 18th to the 23rd of August 2025. A team of volunteers is an integral part of the festival; volunteering is a great way to gain new experiences, make friends, get closer to art, and have a good time. This is an overview of useful information for volunteers before FeKK.
Work
The working hours will be scheduled so that everyone gets the most out of the festival, catching the screenings and activities that interest them, with time in between for studying, reading books, socializing, you name it. The festival venues are very close to each other, so if anyone needs help or if something is unclear, there will be a volunteer leader or team member nearby who will be happy to help.
Bonuses
On the day you work, you get a voucher for a meal at the restaurant and free entry to all movie screenings (please give at least an hour’s notice to someone on the team who puts you on the acreditation list). You also get accreditation, a goodie bag, and you get to meet the cool team – to sum up, you’ll be taken care of.

Communication and questions
If you are interested in anything in advance, you are welcome to send questions to prostovoljci@fekk.si, and we will answer them as soon as possible. A WhatsApp group will be set up before the festival to communicate with each other, and we will meet in person at the volunteers’ meeting beforehand. The date of the meeting will be set together, there are several options and they are listed in the application form. Please create a WhatsApp profile before the meeting.
Volunteer job descriptions
Hospitality
Info point at the Kinodvor reception and making accreditations, packing goodie bags and escorting guests to their hotel or hostel.
Assisting with the event
Setting up and clearing away chairs on the venue, help with refreshment preparation, picking up rubbish from the platform.
Security
Guarding the screen and equipment, supervising the screening in the town square, guarding the exhibition at SCCA Metelkova.
Pre-festival events (in the week before the festival)
Delivery of materials to Kinodvor/Kinoteka, packing of guest bags, assistance with pre-festival preparations.
Social media and promo
One person is in charge of taking photos of volunteers during the week of the festival, as well as promotional material – taking photos of sponsors’ stuff and making sure we fulfill our obligations to sponsors.
Assistant
Helps with the distribution of materials during the festival.
Assisting the Sector Manager
Assists the Sector Manager with specific tasks during the festival.
