Oskar Ban Brejc
Oskar Ban Brejc is a film critic and theoretician. He regularly writes for KINO! and Ekran magazines and co-creates Radio Študent’s show Temna Zvezda. A two-time recipient of the Nika Bohinc Award for Film Criticism, Brejc is deeply drawn to the experimental film and its connections with contemporary theoretical and technological paradigms.
Sigrid Hadenius-Ebner
Sigrid Hadenius-Ebner is the Festival Director at Uppsala Short Film Festival. She has been part of the festival since 2011 and has extensive experience in the film and culture industry. After working at the Tempo Documentary Festival and the Stockholm Film Festival, she served as the Festival Producer for eight editions of the Uppsala Short Film Festival. Her primary focus has been to develop the festival’s industry events, and since 2023, she has been Head of the National Competition. Sigrid has a background in art history (Uppsala University) and film studies (Stockholm University).
Momoko Seto
Momoko Seto was born in Tokyo, Japan. After studying at the Lycée Français of Tokyo, she moved to France and continued her studies at Le Fresnoy. She works as a director for the CNRS (the National Scientific Research Centre), where she makes scientific documentaries. In 2021, she was presented with the CNRS Crystal Award and in 2022, received the support of the Gan Foundation for the Cinema. In parallel, she directs films, including the series Planet, of which the film Planet Σ won the Audi Short Film Award at Berlinale in 2015. Her first feature, Dandelion's Odyssey, was shown at Cannes and won the FIPRESCI award.
Film Critics’ Jury
Živa Emeršič
Živa Emeršič is a journalist, film critic and editor. She has worked for the public broadcaster RTV Slovenia as the Culture Editor, Documentary Programme Editor, and Art and Culture Head Editor. She has hosted the award-winning film-focused TV programme Gremo v kino, the cinematic show Umetni raj, and the cultural show Osmi dan, and a number of studio round tables. Additionally, she reported from international film festivals such as Berlinale, Cannes, Venice, and others. From 1999 to 2002, Emeršič was the Slovenian Film Festival Programme Director and from 1991 to 1996, a Vice-President of FIPRESCI—of which she is still an active member. She is the director and screenwriter of several documentaries. Currently she is a film critic and a member of the commission for public calls at the Slovenian Film Centre and RTV Slovenija.
Lina Horvat
Lina Horvat, a graduate of international relations, devotes most of her time to film, both in theory and practice. She writes about film for Radio Študent's culture and humanities section, Ekran magazine, and Koridor – Križišča umetnosti web platform. As a film pedagogue, she collaborates with the Kinodvor cinema, preparing educational materials and hosting discussions with young viewers. She also works at Kinodvor's ticket desk, where she gets a first-hand look at people's moviegoing habits.
Ksenija Zubković
Ksenija Zubković, a culturologist, has worked at the Slovenian Film Centre for almost a decade. Throughout her career, she has contributed texts on society and (pop)culture to numerous Slovenian and Croatian media and institutions, as well as translated primarily sociological literature. She is also a regular co-worker at Ekran Magazine.
